Roulette Orphan Play is used by many people who are trying to spot trends in the numbers that come up on the roulette wheel.
A roulette orphan, is a number that has been left out over the long term. By betting on it, you are “adopting” it.
This is also called a Sleeper Bet, since the number has been sleeping.
The theory is, that if the number hasn’t come up for a while, it is more likely to come up in the future.
Let’s just blow this theory out of the water straight away, with the following facts:
The roulette wheel has no memory. Each spin is a separate event, so the fact that a number hasn’t come up for a while, is neither here nor there. It doesn’t affect the probability that it will come up in the next spin.
Some might say that you might be betting on a biased wheel, and that the orphan is a product of that bias. Remember, though, that there is no such thing as a biased online roulette wheel, as by definition, a biased wheel has some physical leaning or imperfections in it, and an online roulette wheel is virtual. The results are driven from a random number generator, or RNG.
Note- you can theoretically bet on a biased wheel online in Roulette- if you play Live Roulette.
Also, if you bet on an orphan or sleeper on a biased wheel, you may very well be betting on a negative bias, in which case betting on it would be the worst thing you could do!
