Continuing on our theme of progression systems, there is another called the Three Progression.
We tested the 3 Progression out at Crazy Vegas- you get /£/$ 3000 free to play around with, risk free. You keep the winnings
The idea here, is not to cover your losses, but to cover your losses and some. Instead of doubling your bets when you lose (ie a so called negative progression), you triple your bets. It’s at this point that I normally check the batteries on my heart pacemaker. There’s nothing worse than getting a run of bad luck on the 3 Progression and then realising that you’ve got 6 month old Duracells in your monitor. And check the seal on your waterproof underpants as well while you are at it. As Alex Ferguson once memorably said: “It’s ‘Squeaky Bum’ time”.
So the progression goes:
Now, the pitfalls of the strategy should be clear as day. Your bets ramp up quickly, so even if your starting bet is a minimum of 1, you are going to hit the table limits normally after 5 bets (maybe 6 bets on a VIP table).
But, if your luck is in, it’s Havana cigars.
Use this system with care. Our key recommendation is to only use it in short bursts (ie apply a “Hit and Run” strategy and try to land a winning streak). And start off the sequence low to give yourself the longest run of bets in which to “fish” for a win. Even if you nudge up to a bet of 2 for your starter bet, your progression looks like this:
2-6-18-54 …..enough to get the heart racing a little uncomfortably.
This system is perhaps one to use when you are ahead by a significant amount and you are betting with previous winnings- ie the casino’s money. Never go over your stop loss on a rocket fuel system like this one.
