Every individual spin retains the exact same odds as the one before, therefore, because the last 8 were red, the odds of this next spin being red are exactly the same as they were on the first spin…. ok, so taking on board this (disappointing) fact that we cannot say exactly when something is due, can we still say though that it is due 'at some point'? Questionable how much help to the betting world, but a red is going to come in at some point, as will a black, as will the zero, as will all the numbers. Do we agree on that?
It is possible that every spin on every roulette table will be red forever more – should this possibility lead us to the statement that 'we cannot say a black is due'?
Even on a shorter timeframe, has anybody ever played a whole session where only 1 colour has come in? has anybody ever played for an hour where only 1 colour has come in? 40 same colour in a row? 30? No? then is it not reasonable to use the word ‘due’? how this ‘due’ is used in the betting world is another story, whether it is really useful or not different again, but can we agree that the other colour is due?
Or is this just splitting-hair terminology bs
