Tiers

The numbers which lie on opposite sides of the wheel between 27 and 33 inclusively. In European Roulette:
27,13,36,11,30,8,23,10,5,24,16,33

6 chips (or 12, 18etc) are place.
1 chip is placed on each of the following splits: 5/8; 10/11; 13/16; 23/24; 27/30; 33/36.

A slight variation known as “Tier 5,8,10,11″ has an extra chip straight up on 5, 8, 10 and 11.

“Tiers” is a shortened form of “Tiers du Cylindre”, which stands for “third of the wheel”.
