This is made by a thick person here’s how roulette works- every time you bet on any combination you lose on average 1/19 of what you bet end of story. This could be just black, any combo of individual numbers whatever

Well, there is is some truth to that to that, but you have over simplified the story. I think you are referring to the house edge which is 5.2% (we are talking American double zero roulette. You can reduce this to 2.6% on European Roulette by the way (one zero) and even more on French Roulette that play “La Partage Rule”). All casino games have a house edge. A 5.2% edge means that if 100 players bet $10 ie $1000, the casino takes $52.6 bucks and the rest ($947.4) is used to payout winnings. Some players will lose all of their $10, some will win $10, some may even win more. It’s much the same as playing the lottery. Your losing ticket is funding the winning tickets + the operating costs of the company running the lottery + their profit etc. The best way to play the house edge is to minimise it on the right game (French Roulette) and to shorten your session. If you win, quit and take your winnings. I don’t know about the thick person comment, but I did need to correct your spelling of roulette
